About the Role
At ModularMind, we are building the next generation of AI infrastructure designed to power massively multi-agent systems that think, plan, and execute tasks autonomously. Our platform orchestrates thousands of AI agents working in parallel—designing workflows, coordinating actions, and delivering outcomes at scale.
We are seeking a highly skilled AI Infrastructure Engineer to architect and build distributed backend services, scalable APIs, and autonomous orchestration systems that enable our AI agents to run efficiently, reliably, and with near-infinite scalability. This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in high-scale systems, microservice architectures, and cloud-native environments.
Requirements
Design and build scalable microservices to support multi-agent AI orchestration, messaging, and execution pipelines.
Develop backend infrastructure using Node.js and Python, optimized for performance, modularity, and resilience.
Architect cloud-based solutions using AWS and Google Cloud across both serverless and server-based architectures (Lambda, ECS, GKE, Cloud Run, etc.).
Implement real-time communication systems between AI agents using event-driven or pub/sub architectures.
Optimize compute workloads across GPU, CPU, and distributed execution environments.
Develop observability and monitoring tools to track agent activity, performance, and system health at scale.
Build APIs and SDKs that enable other developers and AI models to interface with ModularMind’s core orchestration engine.
Ensure reliability and fault tolerance, including auto-scaling, self-healing systems, and rollback mechanisms.
Collaborate with AI research and product teams to translate agent requirements into scalable infrastructure capabilities.
Continuously evaluate new technologies to enhance performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Qualifications
Experience with GPU orchestration, vector databases, or LLM deployment frameworks.
Background in building AI tooling or agent frameworks.
Knowledge of event streaming (Kafka, Pub/Sub) or workflow engines.
